Dreams Came True During the Lewis Family Home Dedication
Erwin, NC — On a warm afternoon on October 10th, a community of family, friends, supporters, leaders, and sponsors were present to celebrate the dedication of a new home for the Lewis family. Connie Lewis, her mother, two sons, and daughter seemed overjoyed with their home.
The celebration began with some quick remarks from Habitat's Board President, Judy Crisp., followed by Pastor Edward Hill's invocation blessing.
“Our Father, we are grateful and thankful to be here. This is the day that the Lord has made, we rejoice and are glad in it. We need your Holy Spirit, and we ask for blessings on this well-built shelter from the coming storms. Bless us as we acknowledge you first.”
It was an emotional day for many involved. Habitat Executive Director, Mike Blackmon, Erwin Mayor, Patsy Carson, and Habitat Director, Star Lyon all spoke briefly about the journey to get to this fateful day when a family would see their dreams finally realized. Erwin First Baptist Church Pastor, Thomas Greene prayed over and presented a Bible for the Lewis family.
The celebration was especially enjoyable when Connie, her sons, Jaylan and Dylan, and her daughter, Cayla gave some heartfelt words of thanks. After the keys were presented by Mike Blackmon, the family welcomed the celebrants to take a tour of their brand new home.

“Help us to be lights along the pathways of life, to friends and foe alike. May our purity be as the rays of the mountain sunrise, your character as the beacon light at the harbor entrance and our love and friendship as the glow of the friendly fireside. Our energy, power, and light we now dedicated to the Expert Builder of humankind.”
